Felixx, aluminium is not a recommended material for a still, get yerself a stainless stockpot, turbo yeast is also not a desirable thing, aim for 10%abv and use bakers yeast.

Hi, as far as I know, traditional stuff was all pot stilled so abv would not be any more than about 70%.

Hi Pacman, distilled water is not the stuff you should be using, I don't know much about AG but normal tap water ( if it's safe) works much better. Maybe get yourself some ph test papers or a digital ph meter from feebay, about 15-20 bucks. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in here with...
