So, I ran the nasty concoction last night and held real consistent at between 92 and 94% ABV for just shy of one gallon. Took the first half pint as well as the next pint seperate for an aid in learning how to identify the heads by smell. They are quite distinct. Acetone? Ether? The reflux operation...

I will be using a real tall 3" reflux column. My stove/kettle combination is my idea and is real efficient, at lab scale it boiled 16 oz water in 3 minutes and kept it boiling for 7 minutes on 1 ounce of alcohol. At the testing scale now, it is multi fueled. I'm using propane for now to hold th...

I started my first sugar wash Saturday night. I made a straight 6 gallon sugar wash at 1.09 SG and let it cool down slow.
