Re: Copper Won't Come Clean
You could try a two foot long bottle brush and a water /baking soda mixture for more immediate results, then flush. I realize he's prob already fixed it , but it does work, but only for the lyne arm. They sell that brush at home depot.

Re: Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe
Just wondering if 1.071 og- 0.94 fg is a good ferment. I haven't seen anyone post a fg of 0.94 before, usually 0.96-0.99. Is that too low? Or is it just where it landed, seeing as theres no bubbling yeast smell or sugary taste, though I can really smell the alcohol.

Hey folks, first off like to say wicked recipe! Second I love all the feedback from all the users. I'm on page 38 of my second reading of this thread. I have a question that I haven't seen an answer for yet. When you take a sample into the cylinder for the hydrometer and you're done with the sample ...

Re: We've sprung a leak cap'n!
You could always try to source out a couple of pairs of PTFE ferrules. That way you' d get a positive seal with no leaks unlike using the copper ferrules which usually require the use of a sealing agent such as "Pro-Dope" which us plumbers use in the trade. I gave up trying to use PTFE tap...

RV plumbing anti-freeze safety
I know this may sound crazy and dangerous....initially, but after a little research I've found something interesting. I have been winterizing cottages in my area for the last couple of weeks and have been using a product called economical RV plumbing antifreeze from a company called Recochem. Its go...
