I think you could get by with 9 inches.i barely crack open the water for the condenser.i actually built a slant plate boka to go just under the concentric.i've run 15 runs thru it getting 95abv.i put 3 centering rings in my columm.

thermo is in the back just below the head

I will be running both cleaning runs today if time allows.i cut the column in half to help with pack,cleaning,and for pot runs.

going to make this my first build.been running a milehi for over a year with good results but ready for a little better. going with 2 inch by 32 for the column and 18 inches for the concentric.want to make a very clean neutral mostly.does it sound right?

i run a milehi with a 5foot tower with 2 centering rings and packed copper all the way.i get between 95.3 and 96.5 all the time but it takes 12 to 13 hours to run.i do all bran wash most of the time.

i dilluted a batch of 93% bw in a gallon glass jar down to 40%.both the neutral and the alcohol was room temp.i funnel off into a half gallon and the last was split into 2 smaller fifths.we took the last fifth and put in in the freezer for later.i went to the freezer for one more with the mrs and it...

on my second run of bw.first modifications i got 91abv so added another 30 inches to the column and added 12 inches of co mesh and got 93 adjusted abv.i will add another 12 inches of packing on the next run to see if it makes a diff.thanks for the help pp.

pp i have a question for you. i have a milehi 8 gallon reflux about 30 inches. i have redon the cooling plus made a centering ring as you suggested.i also ordered a ss filter unit but hopfully i should not need it if i do my cuts right.the filter has a 30 inch by 2 ss pipe that i could add to the 30...

just started our first bw.6 gal of our spring/well water,10 lbs plus 1 cup of sugar,juice of 1 lemon,9 oz tomato paste and third cup of bakers yeast.smells great and bubbling away starting sg is 1.08.did i miss anything?pitched in yeast at 30 c,romm temp is 24c.
