sadly the grainfather does not have infinite control of power. The temp controller is that systems weakest point. a $17 temp controller on an expensive system. If you can figure a way to get infinite control you'll be fine. 2000 watts is fine for 25l. Brace yourself, folks are gonna jump on regardin...

you can do it the hard way and figure points per pound for each ingredient or just use an online recipe calculator for beer.

When I said copper pot still I meant the head itself. Mine is not black inside.

If you've got a fitting that slides right thru the hole just wrap a piece of copper wire around it and solder away. The copper wire will hold solder and as an added bonus it will stop the fitting from falling thru

You evidence tat in the bottom few inches if you care to look and clean the packing. But not beyond. Correct? I can for sure tell you that the copper at the top of a 36" packed column still turns black after a time. I've accepted this as normal and clean my packing avery 3-5 runs. Too easy.

pretty sure you'll find 400 more than adequate as a filter. My only concern would be the bubbles causing the element to be dry.
