Re: Going to Electric! HELP!!
Saw this post and had to chime in, I just finished building a very similar controller. I will definitely second the idea of buying still dragons large box kit and order a annmeter from Amazon like 15 bucks. Have it all hooked up to a 5500w camco. Try catching in smaller jars and finger testing the output at begging middle and end of each jar change, helped me force myself to make better cuts. I also proofed each one before mixing them. Read the process some where in hear..

Re: Hello new guy from Cincinnati
Welcome and the nati is cold as shit right now. Been doing this for a bit and my 2¢ is don't use .25 shoot for .5 or 5/8 od in the long run a bigger condenser will pay off. As far as the induction top run time will become a problem unless you a lot if time to kill. Try to go down the road of an heat...

Re: Just started running
Hi everyone. I have been reading about distillation for a couple years and just got to actually trying it. I am a bit obsessed with knowing how all things food and drink are made, as well as learning to make them myself. Its just so satisfying. I have used things from around the house to save money...

Re: Copper in (ss)boiler question.
Whats your condenser, may be go with the classic worm to get the copper on the product. 1/2 m x 20 in a container of at least 15 gallon of cooling water

Re: Box Head Build
What if you gave the liquid path to follow or direct the flow. but an elbow on the condenser tubing pointing down. Again excuse the crude edits but its just for the point Youcompletely lost me.. elbow on the condenser tubing pointing down??? water runs through the pipe and vapor hits it and condens...

Re: Box Head Build
I love this build, so I was thinking about the top plate v slope. What if you gave the liquid a path to follow or direct the flow. I mocked a pic but its crude. So maybe use a thick gage copper wire or 1/2 or 3/8 tubing. Also the condense...

Re: My First 6 Months
#6... I used to have designated fishing/canoeing/hunting room with all if the things I need for those hobbies nearly arranged. That room is now littered with mason jars, 5gal buckets, extra copper, oak chips....the list goes on. While on the subject, anyone have a good way to store all those jars? ...

ShineonCrazyDiamond is right on, IMO its about what you like as far as being to conservative. Your both head down the right track, but what are you doing with you low wines adding to the next run?

Re: First Run
Roobrew, sounds like your headed down the right path. The real question is are u looking for a neutral or some the with more flavor. Either way collect your output in smaller amounts 200 or 300 ml at a time it will help you determine were you are in the run. 8f I may suggest read up on cuts. I read ...

Im running a similar setup, smaller albeit. 6 gal pot with 20 gal condenser and a full run only gets the condenser hot at the top. Have you made a run with you current setup.

Re: semi-new distiller need help with cooling system
Bitoric, do a search for swamp cooler or recirculating cooling. The efort you would expend on cutting the trenches for the pipe could be used to build a swamp cooler, with the pump and gravity doing most of the work.
What kind setup you runnin? And what kind of condenser.

I don't think Googe's post is aimed at noobs, Od1tspyd3r. I think there have been very good ideas put forward over the past few months. They are not all cataloged in some kind of order and I don't expect anyone has the time to do that for all of the thousands of small pieces of information that mak...

My first.. product filter.
So been thinking since my latest upgrade of a good way to filter product after ageing, either on fruit or wood of some sort. Oh and I looking for the solution to be a column style. So my inital thought was to use some copper and a couple reducers so example would be 10" of 1 1/2 reduce that to ...

Re: Finally upgrading
New build looks great! If you don't mind I have a few questions about that boiler. The description on Amazon says it has a vented lid, what does that mean? And also, how sturdy is that lid? Could it hold a 2" column maybe 1ft high? Im looking at the 10 gal model and that's why I ask. And one l...

I'm running on 110, it does take about 60 mins to get the boiler charge going. And another 60 to complete the run.Da Yooper wrote:Very nice upgrade just got 1 question, what size circuit are you running on? Amps must be pushing the limits
