Re: Finally finished my still using pint-o-shine design

First still build

I finished my first pot still. I decided to braze instead of solder so my seams dont look so good but it is vapor tight and works!! I just ran water through it last night to test it and I was very pleased. I was planning on putting the submersible pump in a bucket of ice water and circulating cold w...

Here's mine. That's a 7oz copper measuring scoop on top. Still haven't come up with a good base, just using a block of wood for now.

Re: My first DIY project (parrot)

The output is a copper measuring scoop. I believe they come is sets of 3. That one was the 7oz scoop. You can find them on ebay for a pretty good price but you can also find them on there way overpriced. I got that one for $5 dollars as it wasn't in a complete set but I have seen them as complete se...

Homemade soldering iron

I wanted a soldering iron to solder the edges of my copper before riveting or making seams. I made this with an old railroad spike and a deer antler. Just cut the head off the railroad spike, drilled a hole and threaded it. Ran a long bolt through the antler and tightened it up. Have not tried it ye...

My first DIY project (parrot)

This is my first attempt at working with copper. The first pic is taken from an angle to hide my crappy soldering. The second is a glimpse into how much of a newbie I am. The second was taken after a lot of time was taken to try and clean it up. Lol

Hello from TX

Hello, I am pretty new to this. Last year I bought a Megahome distiller and I have done a few small runs. My last batch was pretty good but it took a long time to get there and there wasn't much to enjoy or share by the time I got it right. I have decided to build a little bigger still and do a lot ...
