Re: Making this into a still, help!!
How about this, this thing has a totally flat bottom on it, How about if I cut a large eneough area out of the bottom, then I will have easy acess to the complete inside of this pot to re-solder the whole thing.? That seems much easier to fix, (for someone thats never worked with metal)

Re: Making this into a still, help!!
Got it. I will re-solder from the inside, handles are not rivited, they are surface soldered, I had also planned on drilling that 3/8" hole out to as close to 1/2" as I can without losing the nipple.

Re: new guy here, worm question
Thanks, So first i test for lead, If I pass that test then I'll have to drill out the 1/4" nipple (my still cap is brass) maybe I can drill the brass to accept a pc. of 1/2" copper and solder that pc. of pipe right into the brass cap. does that sound ok?

new guy here, worm question
I found an old still in my attic, scrubbed and cleaned it, I made the worm, I used 1/4" soft copper, ............. from browsing here I get the feeling that 1/4" may not be large enough
My question is will it work?
