I have a question on cuts. I did two five gallon stripping runs tossing fores on both, then mixed both of them together and diluted to 40% and ended up with 2 gallons for a spirit run. I charged the boiler and collected in 150ml intervals for a total of 1850ml when i stopped fearing that the element...

I didn't know if there was a benefit of running it slower. I thought if i were to run it fast it would strip off flavors like a stripping run.

Doing a run now 200ml in about 10 mins slowed it down to 15-20 mins 200ml still fast drip.

Just curious to what everyone's take off rate is for a spirit run on a pot still at 200ml ? I just want to see if i am running too fast.Maybe some of you have timed your run.

My first run pot still, i used 9lbs panela and 2 tbsp of Fleischman's yeast and 5 gallons water starting sg was 1.07 ended at .998 Threw away the first 200ml and collected 10 200ml jars after that, started 125 proof down to 80 then stopped. I use a brew belt. Put it around your bucket plug it in and leave it alone. You can find them at your local brew shop or ebay for $25.00-30.00

I found some feed grade molasses at the feed store, i ask if it was sulphered or unsulphered and she said that it had a little bit of sulpher in it.. Is there a completely unsulphered molasses? Because i read that you needed a unsulphered molasses.

Could i put section maybe 3 or 4" between the two 90"s and use 2" for the graham and angle the output out ways so it"s further from the boiler? Just asking.

I am ready to build my first pot still tell me if this will work. 2" column 18" tall with two 2" elbows so it will point straight down with a 12" graham condesor 3/8 coil with 1 1/2 jacket? Will this condensor be big enough? Thanks for any input.
