We were goi g to check catfish lines when he got off and camp the night on the river. Problem in he was late getti g off and we were drinking already. We...

For a beginner try Uncle Jesse's Simple Sour Mash. Learn to pot still first then reflux. Learn good cuts. Dont be stingy with every drop and throw out what should be and use faints for the best whiskey. Keep a journal noting time into run, jar number, temperature, and proof. Note that hearts will ru...

Re: The liar's bench

I was here but now I'm gone. No one was here so I drank alone. Cold as hell, no fire to back up to. Didn't build one, was no use too. Everyone so busy, no time to share. We sit at home and go no where. Watch ole FB, You Tube, or fake news. No time for friends, or even church pews. How foolish we are...

Wow! What a lot to take in at one time. Very interesting and worthy of further study. Since last here i have had another doctor visit with much better numbers for my blood work. Lost 10 pounds and keeping it off so far. Had a MRI that did not show what the ct and sonogram appeared to. All in all, af...

Re: Re-distilling local Aguardiente/ sugarcane alcohol

Ashtree one of the smartest distillers i have ever known is fond of saying that water is the best filter medium and tis true. You should always make a heads cut ever run you make. Your 88% is not too bad but if you were looking for higher you would have to run slower with more redistillations provid...

It has been a long day. As I sit in my recliner relaxing, Truckinbutch lies in his motorhome relaxing in the cool of his ac under the shade of my live oaks and within the perimeter of the protective custody of my three donkeys and three guineas. We have broken bread, laughed, slapped at horse flies,...

Eddie you are a lucky joker! If the HD Goddess is going to help you with your still, you are WAY ahead of the game already. If you are sweet, perhaps she will mentor you in a few of her secrets as well.
Best of luck!

Bigbear64 you must be just across the swamp. Still some flatwoods down that way. Welcome to the site! My juice soured overnight but I added yeast anyway. Poured some old syrup in it today and it started fizzing again. Hell I even poured the skimmings in too. The skimmings will make the hogs drunk so...

Fiddleford it is a fine thing to give tribute to a man others would look upon and then cast their eyes away from should his cross theirs. Every man has his demons while some are not so bad some are much more so. It is good that you recognized the good of a man that cared enough for you to show you t...
