Running 7 gallons of low wines cut with fresh wash from a sweet feed wash. Just got a 5 gallon barrel delivered today. Looks like I’ll be filling it soon.

No the shed doesn't stink. We have sandy soil and this time of year we get lots of rain which washes it away very well. Plus when I was the boiler out or run any water in my sink it dilutes it even farther. I don't have to come out in the open to do anything that the neighbors might see. Works just ...

I open the fill port on my still and fill it up out of the garden hose. Cools the hot dunder down, then I open my drain. I have a hose that comes off my drain and goes down through a hole in wood floor of my shed. Drains onto the ground and I never have to leave the shed to wash the boiler or refill...

I cover the jar with a dish towel. Soaks up the evaporated vapor. The microwave doesn't smell like alcohol and the towel allows the vapor to evaporate. IMHO

I have one of these with an oak/barley whiskey inside that has been aging since December. I'm happy with it. At one time I bought a used 8 gallon barrel from the same people and I'm very happy with that one. Much thicker wood and less loss to the angles. Plus the bung hole is bigger and very easily ...

I plan to meet my maker one day. Whenever he is ready for me, I'm ready to go.

I've had blue distillate every time I used feed molasses from my local farm supply store to make rum.

I collect fores and heads without the parrot. Mine is not attached to the still. When I'm fairly certain that I'm close to the end of the heads, I insert the parrot and begin to collect.

It's a felony to be in possession of a still or still parts in Florida as well as possession of "mash" or "wash".

How many we got

I got one of those 5 gallon used barrels and filled it yesterday. I do have some left over so I will put that in jars with charred sticks. The only limiting factor I can see is that the oak sources will be different which I imagine will affect the flavor imparted. But will be interesting to find out.
