Re: My salute to OD (13 plates)

Even though the founding fathers of our Homemade flute did all the R&D for us. The fabrication, long hours and much hard work fall on the builder. You should be proud of your fantastic accomplishment.
One more project crossed off the bucket list... :D

Reading through your build thread I saw you had a section just for ss scrubbers what was the length of that section? I also would like to know if you had a chance to use it on the column and if you had what results did you achieve I will get you my measurement, honestly it was what I had left over ...

Re: Bottles for your Booze

I find nice bottles at a store called The Christmas Tree Shop, as well as Home Goods. $1.99 for a nice quart sized clear bottle with a swing top. They also have 16oz glass swing top whiskey flasks for $3.99. And big 1.5 gallon glass cookie jar looking bottles with a wide mouth, seal and locking lid ...

What do ya think? On my third gen of SF and noticed each gen takes longer to dry out. Normal? I'm seeking advice for or against adding some DAP to my forth gen, I'm using three 5 gal buckets. Air locks are steady for the duration but now taking about 9 days to finish. I don't have a PH meter or stri...

Re: Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe

I have tried this recipe twice and both times were fantastic. It took me about 10 days to ferment from 1.06 to .98 at 22 C. On the calculator it says to use whole lemons, are they supposed to be cut in half? Also, as mentioned previously it does have an off tomato smell when distilled, but you cant...

Re: Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe

You shouldn't have a problem, the first thing yeast will do after pitching is hopefully reproduce with O2 present before going to work on the sugar. Rack when finished and let settle. You wont be disappointed. Reminds me of The Three Stooges short, when they were making beer and they All put the yea...

I'm sorry you have to deal with this unknow illness. I can only imagine how unsettling it must be. A lot of changes all at once. Hi Everyone. I am about to try the BW recipe for the 1st time but have a question regarding the yeast. I am wondering whether to use dry active yeast or bakers yeast(wet) and if the amounts stay the same with both or should the dry active yeast be scaled back to 2:1 ratio. thx I used dry bakers yea...

Just look at it from rads point of view. The same questions you have asked have been on here hundreds of times. Doing a quick search will find you the answer. If you had the same questions over and over again, 4,5,6 times a week or more, when the answers are right at the question askers finger tips...

Nice one, NV. I have made a couple of those, and like it as well. It has a hint of taste to it that I cannot describe... different but pleasant. Not completely neutral, but I only distilled once (I'm drinking it too fast to be able to mix batches and re-distill). Was thinking of soaking some raw pi...
