There have been a couple of WL yeasts that have peaked my interest reading about them, but I've never had a problem with plain ole bakers yeast, and its a whole lot cheaper. if you split and refrigerate you yeasts should be able to get 10 lots out of 1 vial and they can be used like 5 to 10 times e...

Hi Chris I have done a range of testing with Australian hardwood - mainly with wine but the results will be similar with spirit. The first thing is that none of the Eucalypts give a very satisfactory result - too many dominant off flavours. The thing I had some success with are some of the larger t...

You could move to Oz... its legal to have a still as long as it's not over 5 litres capacity, however larger stills sold openly even from licenced liquor outlets. it is still illegal to run alcohol through it and i cant find who was commenting on legalization and safety but my piece to add to that ...

Well now that the TTB will have everyone who purchased a distillers Name and address, why not apply for a AFP permit? Then you wont have to worry. The big deal all along with most people as far as applying for a permit was disclosing your information. They are about to have your information anyway....

I have not tried that one Chris, but looks like a great experiment. Ill keep a close eye on how things go here. You might want to add a fruity English Ale yeast to the list of test yeasts. IVe heard good things, and tried it on my last batch of wheated bourbon to bring out more fruit with a WLP023 ...
