I have done one small run of AG to date (20 litres) 3kg corn, 2 kg of malt barley, boiled water ,then poured into a cooler that I have, was a pain to get it out after words, currently use a 50L keg pot still, and have a 60 l keg for BOP, I would like to do a full run, (40L), rather than use my coole...

I am going to be a proud grandpa come morning and what I would like to do is take a bottle of rum and store it until my grandchild is if age,made fresh yesterday , here that would be 18 yrs. I run a propane torch rigged up to a steel rim, 50 litre keg. I can go from start to drips in about 40-45 min, also in garage with door open, the only thing with the orange flame is you get soot on the bottom of your still, easy to clean off though, my collection point is approx 4 feet from my burne...

Sugar wash stopped early
So did a sugar wash today however had to stop midway and shut her down( doing spirit runs) 27 l of 40% low wines. Gonna fire up tomorrow where I left off, question I have is will there be any benefit to pour what I have run off so far back and

Thanks for all the info, outside temps are suppose to warm up , so with that and blanket it will help with mash temp, It has been fermenting for 8 days now, I am at 1.010, Glad it is not maggots and don't have to throw it away, I used the yeast bed from a previous birdwatchers, thanks again all.

Gonna give this a go, 50 litres water,10 kg of sugar ( on sale for 8.99 Today :D ) 100 ml lemon juice 2 cans 156 ml each paste 1/2 tsp Epsom salt 1/3 cup Fleischmans bread makers yeast (rehydrated first) Pitched yeast at 105, SG -1.075 It's been 1 hour now and not much action, Hopefully in the morn...

I use a 205 L plastic barrel with a 2 litre per minute pond pump @ 4' head, I can do stripping runs at 1 litre@ 5-6 minutes
