Re: Zak's First Bubbles

Yeah I'm a bit more active on another forum, just thought I'd drop a pic in here. Been running a 3" pot still for a few years, finally got the new still sorted.

Cheers for the kind words :D

Zak's First Bubbles

Pretty soon I'll be doing my first run with my new 4" 4 plate bubbler :D can't wait! I put down 50L of cornflakes whiskey this afternoon. Got a heap of old feints for the sac run, hopefully this coming weekend.

You're welcome, guys.

He's not everyone's cup of tea, but name me a (good) stand up comedian that doesn't touch controversial topics?

His TV show, 'Legit' is worth a look :D

Thanks to the guys willing to put forward some actual discussion  Crow, you are right, I'm not old enough to have had my guns taken away, but my dad and uncle were, and they lost priceless family heirlooms that should never have been up for grabs. You are also right in that guns are tools and ...

As Jim says, I'm all for you guys having guns, but to think your argument is anything but; 'fuck off! I like guns!' is ridiculous

Sorry guys! I thought a few, like Loki, might be able to see the funny side and take the piss out of themselves a bit.

But then I'm guessing that not many actually watched more than 3 or 4 minutes of it...

Re: my introduction

I personally keep the hearts of my gen 1 'sweet' strip and drink them... Toss the heads and throw the tails in with the low wines from gen 2 - 5 or whatever. I love the taste of both the sweet mash whiskey and the sour mash, so I keep the sweet mash seperate. Make sense?

Re: my introduction

Product coming off the still at 40% will have a nicer flavour than that at 60%, if you like the taste of wet dog and feet :wtf: My pot, running an 8% CFW or similar starts producing at about 70% on a strip run, and about 85% on a spirit run of 40% low wines. What I call the hearts of the spirit run ...

Re: "Agrajag", the 6" Bubbler

Yeah, I'll hard solder the flange to the SG body, then soft solder the SG body to the column... The rings that I cut today will sit on the outside... It'll go; [COPPER RING] [SILICONE GASKET] [BORO SIGHTGLASS] [GASKET] [FLANGE] Make sense? They'll be screwed together with stainless screws, not held ...

Re: "Agrajag", the 6" Bubbler

A small update; Spent an hour or so in the shed this arvo, tidying up the my caps and cutting some sheet for the caps, and the sightglasses... Made this little jig up to cut ~50mm ends for my bubblecaps... the center drill bit in the holesaw is snapped, which lets me cut complete circles out :D http...

Re: "Agrajag", the 6" Bubbler

:wtf: of course! If I cut 20mm high bands of 6" pipe, take 1mm out of them with a grinder and solder them back together, it should fit snugly on the inside of the pipe... Solder these bands onto the top of the plate and I should be sweet! Obviously I'll still need a couple of laps of thread tap...
