Just one more question DAD (for now!)
How far past the Vapour take off would my condenser need to go. Assuming normal double coil type in 2" column. I am assuming this is approx 6" depending on water temperature?

Re: T size on 2" Boka LM/VM column
thank you for all the replys. cardinalbags, i plan on making neutrals and the design of the column i have in mind is similar if not the same as your new still. DAD300, So a condenser controlled VM above the slant plates? Which will get rid of the valve and the cost, (you don't have exclusivity on th...

Re: T size on 2" Boka LM/VM column
Thank you for the reply DAD. I will be using the boka head, plates and needle valve to take off heads and then using a gate valve for the VM. I have just costed a 2" valve and this will be more than the rest of the still! If i go with the 1"valve would a 2"x2"x1" or a 1"...

T size on 2" Boka LM/VM column
Hi, Is there any evidence as to which size T is better on a VM take off. I have seen people using 2"x2"x2" or 2"x2"x1" and 1"x1"x1". I am about to start ordering bits for a Boka LM/VM combo and this is the only part i am confused over. Any input will be g...

Re: 2" VM and SPP
Since we are currently re-developing our SPP (for even better performance), delivery will take some more time. More than usual. Regards, Odin. Hi Odin, re-developing how if i may ask? What difference in performance are we talking about? If i place an order on your site would i receive the new SPP w...

http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12059 I also made one with just one section of flex, it works just fine. Also. "I use the second, smaller one almost exclusively, it really works well." -hey- Hi hey, I found your post very informative thank you. The cost for two of t...

Re: Flexible copper plumbing stick
Hi Prairepiss, yes one would be too short which is why i mentioned two in my original post :D The still i am going for is a boka LM/VM combo so the Liebig is for the product condenser. Question is, would there be a benefit in using 600mm of this type of tube instead of normal straight pipe. Has anyo...

Re: Flexible copper plumbing stick
Hi Bentjar, the ends are standard 15 mm dimensions and designed for connection to other standard fittings. Each end has a couple of inches of straight pie for this very reason, I was building a Leibig with 15mm internal and 22mm jacket as used elsewhere on this site. When i saw this i thought it may...

Flexible copper plumbing stick
Hi, can not find any information on this item. http://www.screwfix.com/p/flexible-copper-plumbing-stick-15-x-15-x-300mm/61598# Could i use two of these as my internal tube on a Liebig condenser? I was thinking that the ridge nature would be beneficial in increased area for condensate and in contact ...

Re: SPP style etching of condensor coil
So are we saying a polished coil is more effective?manu de hanoi wrote:etching has the opposite effect, it helps wetting the SPP. You dont want that on your condenser .
If anyone has any links on etching and the science behind it i will be very grateful, thank you.

Re: Developing a new SPP Machine
How does the size of this SPP compare to your current one Odin? Is the 400% increase in efficiency due to the shape following the russian patent or is it one of your own designs? and when can i buy some ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

SPP style etching of condensor coil
If etching SPP packing allows the liquid to slide off more easily would a reflux condenser benefit from the same treatment? I am thinking that if the condensate is on the coil for as little time as possible it would retain more energy when it returns to the column. Would this help the condensate be ...

Re: Is building a still easier than registering?
Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes i am building my own (allegedly) I have about 140cm of 2" and 60cm of 3" copper pipe. I am leaning towards a boka LM/VM combo and will post some sketches for feedback. I look forward to hopefully becoming a productive member here. Thanks once again

Is building a still easier than registering?
Hi, after 3 failed attempts to register i am left wondering if the registration process is to weed out people who are a) sampling their own product to much or b) people who have no concept of simple math  (only joking, it is far better than those captcha thingies :D ) Been lurking for quite s...
