Re: Check this recipe..... Will it work?

Im not sure but I dont think that whiskey yeast with ag works well with added sugar. I think it is for an all grain method.

You should order some Distillers yeast and that will definently work.

If not doing a continuos run, I put it in a gallon milk jug and freeze it for using in my next mash. Most of the time if I am going to save it I will pour it over my sugar and let it disolve then pour that into the jugs and freeze.

Re: Directing heat around the boiler

Just go to Lowes and get their foil backed insulation for water heaters and a roll of silver tape. Wrap the insulation around your keg or pot leaving the bottom 3" uncovered for flame overlap and you will be suprised at how good this works.

I would recomend you try the sweet-feed recipe. It is a very easy one to do and makes a good sipping whiskey with lots of flavor.
Or do a UJSM recipe found here on this forum.

You only need as much as it takes to bring your ph where it needs to be. If you start off with a ph of 7 add 1/2 tsp, stirr in good and recheck if its not low enough keep doing this until you get the desired ph. In wposw he only uses 1 tsp full to 6 gal of wash. take a look in tried a true recipe's....

Like stated before the hose on the left is for water inlet the hose on the right is water exit. Run the water fast enough just to knock down any steam coming out of the collection end , all you want coming out is liquid.
