Re: Non-Stilling related question for the electricians

Thanks for the input shady and hdnb.. I know you're both trying be helpful but.. shady, that diagram is too much for me to decipher as I don't know what's going on in the rest of the switches. But I'm going to open up the plates to the other switches to see if I can figure it out. So, thanks. Hdnb, ...

Non-Stilling related question for the electricians

Hi all, I have some questions for the electricians/electrically inclined folks.. I've just bought a house and I've been re-wiring some light switches and I've run into a small problem that I cant seem to find the solution for. So here goes... I have one set of lights in the kitchen, controlled by 2,...

Re: Peppers, peppers, peppers

I've made this http://www.rickbayless.com/recipe/habanero-hot-sauce/ recipe a few times with my Habaneros. It's amazing, and keeps for months in the fridge.

It would also be very good with other varieties of peppers.

Try a Google search for "fat washing." Tons of different flavours using a pretty simple technique. One of my favourites is brown butter and almonds with oaked UJ. Makes a great base for hot toddies. Just don't get sucked into the bacon flavour... Been there done that... Not a very nice tim...

Nice haul bushman.

Good call freezing them in water. So much better that way.

Just wanted to throw it out there that if you freeze them in ocean water (or similarity salted water) its even better.

I've never tried it. I would bet that you would lose a lot of good liquor to the grains though.

. They had Jim Swan develop the whole process, and those in the Whisky world know his name very well already as he is a respected consultant who was also responsible for developing Kilchoman's products. What is similar is that both Kavalan and Kilchoman are extremely drinkable whiskies for such a y...

Did you guys miss how old this post is?

Perhaps it's from before our 'hobby size' rules were so strongly enforced?

Either way... I'd like to hear a follow up about it. Looks pretty sweet. An its a unique design.

You still around mozzman?

Re: DIY Counterflow Wort Chiller as Condenser?

Whats the id of the inner tube (vapor path)? 3/8. As johnny6 said, and as you touched on in ur OP, you would have to rig it up in a frame to ensure a continuous downward slope. I can't see why it wouldn't work. Plumb it so the coolant ingress is at the bottom and egress at the top. 3/8 is pretty sm...

I'm partial to K.I.S.S. I view the rig as a tool that serves its purpose and that purpose isn't to look pretty.

Not that its a bad idea.

There are a few threads kicking around here that address your very question. I don't have links to them.

Do an HDgoogle search.

Congrats on ur first rig.

I just wanted to comment on safety... You may want to consider supporting the end of that monster (for you size pot) condenser. Looks like shes trying to pull the whole rig over.

On the other hand... Bakers yeast likes to be warmer than the 63-68f that your basement is at.

I'm not suggesting that it's wrong by any means... But it may not be "ideal"
