Corn cob question
Every year I get 100 ear of fresh sweet corn. I pull the corn off the cob for canning and freezing. I use the cobs to make my Mommas Corn Cob Jelly Recipe. Thats sweet as honey maybe even sweeter,... My question is, Has any one boiled the cobs to extract the sweet corn juices and flavor to make a go...

well I was looking at a Boka because you can make 190 proof with it, I make hot pepper extract and I use 190 in the process,,,,I also love rum and other spirits....so I figured I could do the boka to produce 190 and then run it as a pot as well....

the first taste was enough for me!!! When I finish the Boka this weekend.... I will have to see what happens (after the cleaning run, already have a 2 gallon simple sugar for cleaning)....I will post what the end result is....

Thats pretty cool....I just wish that with the growing interest that it will help convince the lawmakers that distilling is NOT that bad of a thing and help persuade them to LEGALIZE it!!!!

Sorry for being so vague in my original post. I am using a standard keg to build a pot still, didn't really know if I needed a controller, If I need a controller I will get 1, I have a standard 110 line that I can use. I have always used a propane burner under my old 5 gallon pot still, now upgradin...

hhhmmmm maybe its time to dig out my keg and build a whole new still.....I was just thinking that by running 2 pots in series I could double my output and still use my current thumper and liebeg

Be sure if you are distilling in a pot still you pour it through a pillow case or some kind of filter/strainer otherwise the grains and fines will burn to the bottom of your pot.
