I know, I cant help myself. I hope I am not testing your patience much, I intend to be a contributor as well as a nuisance one day. its my first wash, first still. Re: Oak Barrels, Where to buy?
Buy what you want, but a 5 L barrel is a waste if you ask me. That size is so small the evaporation rate exceeds the aging process. My recommendation is a 3 gallon or 5 gallon barrel, with the 5 gallon being the better option. You'll end up with better booze, and more of it. Gibbs Brothers cooperag...

Re: Peach Brandy!
I distilled mine twice with a pot still. The strength of the peach flavor isn't a bad thing. It just tastes exactly like canned peaches. It's different. I like canned peaches so I like this too. I've run 2 batches of apple brandy so far, one made from fresh apple juice and one made from apple juice...

Re: Gerber
Rad, I wanna say this recipe is awesome. I did some tweaking myself and i just did 2 7 gallons washes that finished in 36 hrs. After inverting sugars and Gerber formula i crushed a super complex B vit. And added 3/4 teaspoon of Peters 20-20-20 into fermenter. I then used a stone aerator and aerated ...

Re: Gerber
No I got what you are saying, I KNOW the distilling part inside and out, I just sometimes have issues with temps and whatnot on the wash side of things... I used RedStar instant dry yeast. It is the quick rise yeast. I am not sure this was a good choice or not? I really appreciate your help Rad, I h...

Rad, New to site! I have a question regarding your wash recipe. I followed it to the T, its been 5 full days of ferment and my airlock is still bubbling once every 5 seconds.
