Optimasn enzyme
I've checked all the sources I've used for supplies and can't find Optimash enzyme for starch conversion. Any suggestions for a internet order supply house?

Re: coolant circulation pump
It turns out that the best option was a very small pump from the Solar industry, 12 volt, plenty of volume and pressure, cost $32 on ebay. The pump I got from Harbor freight was junk, leaked the minute I turned it on, 6 weeks later I'm still waiting for a replacement. But the 12 V solar hot water pu...

coolant circulation pump
I'm working on a closed loop system to cool my boka with the double helix condenser, it runs through 1/4 inch copper line. I've tried the bilge pump I had left over from of boat I have, but being designed for high volume and low pressure it won't work. What can any of you recommend in either 120volt...

Re: Reflux tower and boka
I repacked the column, I sure enjoyed the smell of the packing when I pulled it out! I was able to stuff just over a pound in the column and then some. I ran the shine and had no trouble pulling 90% out of it. A definite improvement. Thanks again for the advice.

Re: Reflux tower and boka
Ok, I've got 1 lb 4oz. of packing left over from my 2 lb purchase. I'll repack the column tonight with 1.3 lbs total and see what happens. I've got a batch of "sugar shine" ready to run on Saturday. I'll let ya know what happens. Thanks to all for the responses.

Re: Reflux tower and boka
My mistakes, 2-3 drops per second and the column is 2 inch, the charge was 6 gallons in a 10 gallon pot. ABV was 10%, As I said, everything looks good by the numbers except the output proof. This is why I think I need more packing.

Reflux tower and boka
I am on my third run with a new 1 1/2 inch, stainless mesh packed tower with a boka head. (I've spent a year running a basic pot with column) The best I can get is 175 proof, running 2 -3 drops per minute out of the valve and letting the rest reflux, I've waited up to one hour in the prime temp zone...

Greetings fellow "shiners" I am a Vermont based rookie "alcohol fuel producer" Working on batch number 11. I'm looking at some of the recipes for Vodka that involve grains. Especially white wheat. Here is my question, if these grain based recipes are used for the sake of flavor, ...
