Do you guys think you could just wrap PTFE tape over the rubber gasket 3-4 rounds to make it safe for the alcohol vapor?? Might make a good aging vessel, could even sample as it's ageing through one of the ports, not pressurized of course..

Today I dissolved 40 pounds of sugar into 4 gallons of water, I ended up with 6 gallons volume after it was dissolved fully, done in a turkey fryer.. Granted that is a lot of sugar for only 4 gallons of water.

Well,the still went to it's new home yesterday. The friend I built it for decided that he actually wants it :thumbdown: , I was hoping he was going to forget about it. Did the vinegar/water run and then just water run, next up the SAC run.. The vinegar/water run I put no water in my worm and just steamed everything out, and for the water run I filled up the worm bucket. One question though. On the plain water run It took me 55 min to get the water to start coming ...

Don't know yet for running. Im still waiting for my ferments to finish, which it has been 3 weeks already, still bubbling away though.. Hopefully soon, getting very anxious.

I.D. or O.D.? 1/4" I.D is what I have. Maybe 3/8" ID would be better.

Is 1/4" tube too small of the inlet that goes to the bottom of the 1" dia vertical tube? Also same for the outlet? I have some scrap left over and didn't want to buy anymore copper..

So far it hasn't done anything. I think it is stalled. it is only about 60-65 deg in that room, so that probably isn't helping. I may have to try the bottle next time.

I'll see what i can do on the temp.
Ill check the SG in a couple days and see what it is at, it was at 1.075 at the beginning.
My other grape concentrate wash started at 1.085, ill have to check it too.

So if you wanted a fast ferment what temp would you want it at? Does this affect the end resulting quality?

Does the amount if yeast seem right then? I just followed the gallon amount on the packet. 3 packets@5 per=15gal

I wish I could find a really fast sugar wash ferment for my first couple trial learning runs.

I was actually going to do the ping pong ball style, but unfortunately they were out of ping pong balls local, so plan B it is... We will see how it works, I just pitched the yeast, so hopefully in a couple hours we will see some action.
