Re: Newb intro

Greetings, Beef... Do you have a different angle pic of that still head...??? Something sounds odd about your description and I can't make it out in that pic... A reflux column should never require a "slobber jar" as no liquid should make its way to the top of the packed column... Good lu...

Re: New Still

With home distilling being legal in NZ, I would hope that there are many (safe) better options for a hobbiest in the market to buy a still. Why anybody would use a plastic still is just crazy. I guess it's just an example of how a slick talking saleman can convince you to buy anything. But once you...

Re: Continuous fermentation

That's how I do all my washes. My drain leaves 10 or so litres in the bottom of my barrel. When it's time for the next wash. I just add water and molasses until I get to my desired SG. Yeast is still good. Shells in the bottom keep pH in check. Beauty.

We have store brand 500ml jam jars for $1.50 each. I don't waste time looking at mason jars as the 1L one are $7.99 each

Re: Coolant route for flute.

My newer still has one inlet and splits to two valves because I have two dephlegmators, I see no issues with balancing coolant flow, it all settles it's self out. If you think one dephleg is confusing, try two! Just curious googe, why do you have 2 dephlegs? That can be todays study for you c...

I've checked. With both the police and animal control. I was being harassed for a while and wanted to know my house was safe when we were out of town. As long as I do not egg the dogs on. And I do what I can to stop them attacking. It's why you see big scrap/car yards have dogs and electric fences. ...

Unfortunately dogs are a lawsuit waiting to happen. My dogs are family, not protection. Cameras for when I'm not here but when I am, lead and good places for scavenger animals to feed is important. You have to figure even a fully justified shooting is going to cost a minimum of $50k because the sta...
