Re: Booner's Casual All Corn

I've really good success pre-heating my cracked corn (Producers Pride). I fill 3 aluminum catering trays with 3lbs 14oz each, add water 'till I can see some peeking through, wrap tightly in foil and bake at 190 for 2 hours or so. I used to bake at 300 for 90 minutes, but lost too much corn sticking ...

Chameleon Bourbon

Question. I have a bourbon that seems to be a chameleon... it changes ever so slightly with time when drinking. Over the time it takes to consume the bourbon over ice, the bourbon hits 3 phases that I can tell. 1st - vanillas and caramel when initially poured over ice. 2nd - vanillas and caramel not...

Bottling a 66.6% Cracked Corn and 33.3% Red Wheat @95 proof.

Sat in a used & augmented Balcones barrel for 15 months. Got 3.25 gallons back. There were some "tastings" that can take some of the blame.

Huge fan of the Havanna Club...

My go to is the 7 with a pref for older.

In-Laws live in France - one of the best and less expensive options in the south is Havanna Club.

Working the budget to get 100lbs from Sugar Daddy - should lay up nearly 5 gals in some nice Balcones Oak.

Re: CT's agitating mash after ferment-OHH NO NOT BEER!!!

Copper - great response to the folks feedback. I understand what you mean however. When I move any of my ferments to a secondary - far more particulates fall out of the suspension. I end up with a super clear mash, wine or wash to run. I will see in about a year if it make any difference in the end ...

Doing cleaning run 3 of 4 total. The still sat for a good 6 months unused. Want this thing "pure". Debating on doing a 10 gallon single pass on some 80% Oat with 20% Red Wheat Malt. Or starting on my eau de vie de pomme. I've got 42 gallons to run. Believe that I'll do the oat though. Good...

Might be the sugar wash. Some folks like/love it. It took me aging some UJSSM over 9 months to be palatable to me. My wife can sniff out a sugar wash in seconds - no matter the age. I have since moved on to AG, quite the difference for me anyway. I now like my product(s) much better - wife is now af...
