Re: Firs Corn run.

Yea I was afraid I may have gotten it to puke early and as the run went on it cleared up a bit more. I'll try another batch of grain and strip it then combine the two of them and run it again. I thought about adding a thumper to keep it from burping. So it may look like I need to in the future... Al...

Firs Corn run.

So i made a mash off a recipe i had seen in tried and true forum. I followed everything up and fg was at .998, so i let it set for a couple extra days to let the yeast fall. I just ran it this morning and it done something i have never seen it do. I have ran 1 cleaning run with viniger, and 2 bird w...

Re: Cooling idea

Well I decided to give it a try since I already had a pump laying around. I have a large cooler with the pump in it and its working great. Had it going for over 2 hours now and only thing ive had to do is regulate the pump flow. Believe I will have to do this for a while just until I can get a large...

Re: Cooling idea

No, I was not going to use ice water. I was wanting to use a cooler or trashcan as a water tank. Have a pond pump in the cooler where the water is and have a line run into the bottom of the 5 gal bucket and a overflow line run out the top back into the cooler to let it cool back down. The still is a...

Cooling idea

After finishing my still and doing a cleaning run I found out I need a more efficient way to cool the worm. I have been reading about the pond pumps everyone is using for the lidbig condenser. I was thinking about using a pond pump with a cooler setbeside or across from my worm to feed water in the ...

Re: First Birdwatchers mash..

Everything is spot on, its just slow. I followed the recipe to a T. I used my mixing spoon to aerate it making allot of bubbles and then pitched the yeast. Nothing different than when I make beer all the time. The only thing I done differently this time was use a different yeast. Im used to using Re...

Re: fermentation keeps failing HELP!!!!!!!

You need to slow down and read the parent site. Then read the newbie section. The only reason I could pickup as fast as I did was because I had been brewing beer for the past 5 years. Here is some reading that is a must in my opnion before you start doing anything. http://homedistiller.org/wash/ferm...

Re: fermentation keeps failing HELP!!!!!!!

Have you been taking your gravity readings?

Also not trying to sound like a prick but I believe you need to do allot more reading in the recipe forum and try one that is proven. Get good at it then move onto something new.

It took a dump roughly 3/4 the way through my run. my cleaning run was done with a propane burner in the garage. I have been looking at small propane burners and was wanting to kno if anyone has used o...
