Re: vinyl tubing & STAR SAN
I have had vinyl tubing go cloudy from Starsan. The Starsan was diluted to usable strength with distilled water and left in the tubing overnight. I dumped it in the morning and the area touched by the Starsan was cloudy. I ran a pipe cleaner down the tubing and it wouldn't come off. It cleared up a ...

Re: Windows 10???
Agree completely with other devices (iOS, Android, etc) being as bad or likely worse than Windows 10 and that focusing on just one device and ignoring the rest isnt going to gain you any security. Its tough to not potentially have everything you do, or where you go or what you say recorded, tracked ...

For those concerned with security it's easy enough to fix. Here's a good article. http://bgr.com/2015/07/31/windows-10-upgrade-spying-how-to-opt-out/ Quote: "As invasive as it is, Microsoft does allow Windows 10 users to opt out of all of the features that might be considered invasions of priv...

Re: Dip tube with bottom drain
Thanks for the tips guys! I'd thought about using a tee, but knew it wouldn't fit in the 2" sanke, why I didn't think about cutting it shorter I have no idea.... I'll just say I'm glad that the forum exists.

Dip tube with bottom drain
Hey Guys, Just finished rebuilding my stand to accomodate a thumper. I'm running a 50L boiler and am going to setup a 50L thumper. Im going to use the (now standard?) setup of just utilizing the sanke fitting with a 2" tee and reducer. On the boiler I have a 1" bottom drain (in the very mi...

Not sure where you're at in Ontario but I've bought some kegs from Lawson Kegs: http://www.lawsonkegs.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow . Good guy to deal with and he has lot of different types/sizes of kegs to choose from.

Re: My Pot Still Plans with Thumper
I think I would use a long piece of 2" out of the thumper with the Tee fitting higher up. That would raise your liebig condenser up higher. With the liebig higher you could attach it vertically with a 90 degree instead of a 45, put a union in the lyne arm to the liebig and use the union to adj...

I just bough 20Kg for $14.97 Cdn this way (Ontario Canada). So with conversion (if I've done the math right) it works out to 30 cents per pound. Not bad it seems!

That does suck. I don't know how much it costs in Canada but I did some research and know that tree top is made with 100% USA apples and I actually bought 5 gallons of tree top fresh pressed which is not made from concentrate to make hard cider to try keg carbonation and give away because I like gi...

Re: apple juice
I'd considered doing this myself. A friend of mine is always making cider from cheap apple juice, and raves about it. What's kept me away from it in general is the knowlege that pretty much all of the apple juice around here (Canada) is made from apple concentrate from China. Ive narrowed down a cou...

Re: New Member, New Build and a Question
I like the start on #2 but here is the changes to prevent pooling. Extend the reducer a little longer (not much) before the 45∘ then rotate the 45 so it points down not horizontal. From here add your product condenser. So basically, there would be no horizonal section at all correct? How would I go...

Wow, 2 inch copper 45s for $2.49??? Please tell me they are copper. Most one inch fittings I buy are $10 a piece and I haven't ever seen 2 inch copper pipe at Home Deeps. Thanks for the input so far guys! I probably should have added that I have all of the fittings in the diagrams (thank you HomeDepot for having 2" 45s for $2.49 lol); I agree though, no sense in doing extra work/wasting fittings if it brings no advantage!

Hey Guys, I've been doing a lot of reading on the forum (so glad this site exists!) and slowly collecting parts I need to build a still.
