I am using a 5 gal pot still and wondering if I stuffed some copper pad up the column will it be worth the trouble and will it help with the strength and flavor? I have been running sweet feed and am getting 125-130 proof. Hoping to up that a bit.

actual pockets of yellow slick grease. I believe it's from animal by products that were in the pellets. The wash had a slimy greasy slick feel to it.

When I opened my bucket it had the film of grease on it and pockets of grease. Needless to say it went to the woods. I'll Have another sweet feed ready in a couple of days. This one is deer corn. Will let you know how it goes as well. Thanks again for all the help while I am learning this hobby.

Thanks for the input. The recipe said should be ready in 4-5 days. After the 4th day didn't have any more bubbles so I figured the yeast was through. I let it sit for one more day before I ran it. I have used sweet feed without pellets a friend that has horses knew I used horse feed and brought me some from his farm. I know pellets have been talked about here that is why I asked for advice. Help please, I was given some purina omalene so decided to try it. It had corn and matter pellets in the mix.
