Just bought a 42 Quart pot no marking on it at all can I test it for aluminum and not damage it, if so how? Want to use it for a boiler if SS. is there some kind of acid test you can do?

I used the bottom of an old bucket it works ok but I have been looking for a 10" piece of PVC drain pipe alot thicker and won't flex as much. I move around alot at work so its just a matter of time till I score a freebie

Have been brewing beer for many years now I believe this is called a counter flow wort chiller. basically the same thing but with a garden hose wraped around the outside and copper inside. But Me likes the copper version. Damn fine job. :D

They do not sell this in Washington state, I was told you have to have a prescription for it. What a affliction do you have to have in order to get a prescription for Everclear. Had to go to Oregon to get it for $35.00 a gallon. This is why I make my own.

Moving up from just sugar washes wanting to go into grains. feeling a little timid about venture. Just need guidence. Have been using cork (homedepot brand) wrapped with teflon tape several wrappings will go thru 3 rolls :? Is this ok???

If anyone has links to places to get materials for gasket materials let me know :oops:

Why not have a funnel with holes in the 12,3,6,9 o'clock position enough to alow vapor to pass through but still a solid enough area to catch liquid and direct it to the center of the packing?????

Has any one noticed a difference in taste between running with electric (internal) or gas ????

If so, which was better?

Have new electric keg with Variac controll. Bought Variac on ebay $132.00 US 20amp very nice unit. Chinese made but runs great.

Looking for Ideas for large openings on electric beer keg boilers. Other than flour and water which I know works great.

I was thinking of the Sil (Silicone) Pads used in the baking. Any ideas on this?

Teflon sheets, but where to find and buy them?

Found a Video on youtube of a cornmash recipe and was wondering how long would you hold the mash at 155* F for?

Thanks Kiwi enjoy your summer my winter is getting to be a pain Wet and cold.

My ABV on my wash is 8% does that sound right?

I has a terrible taste to it so will have to see when I run it how it comes out.

do you have a recipe to try that you use?
