Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?

Cranky, many years ago when I was working at a Subway at a truck stop, a teenager came in and purchased sandwiches with two tools of dimes. One roll of uncirculated Roosevelt silver dimes and one of uncirculated Mercury dimes. We held them for a few weeks thinking a parent would come by to claim but...

Re: Shrimping and fishing

My neighbor got a halibut near Port Townsend last week when it opened. He kept that one all to himself though. He constantly catches lingcod. My favorite are the shrimp up here, nothing has tasted as good as those, not even Dungeness.

Anyone happen to have a couple bags of panela they'd be willing to get rid of in PNW? I am moving again soon but getting a friend into the hobby who is interested in making some rum. If so, please shoot me a message.

Re: Low alcohol from my AG mash

As others stated, you're not making beer and want those enzymes to convert everything. I mash and let it naturally cool down to pitching temp. To ensure I have complete conversion, I also mix a tablespoon of powdered glucoamylase from a one pound bag that I purchased on Amazon for $25. Kviek yeast, ...

I typically measure from inside the flange on one side to inside on the other side to ensure I am tightening them evenly. I also mark them so the same rods go back into the same holes on the flanges. Take it slow and ensure even threads on both sides and you'll get it back to normal soon.

I've never been to Saudi Arabia, but I have lived in a neighboring country and also traveled the 3 countries that border it. Just wanted to point out a couple things. Majority of the workers there are not illegal immigrants. Most come over on work visas from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, P...

That's why you jump electric from the beginning so you can do it indoors... I'm at 20 now but see myself staying in for a while still, it pays the bills and I'm still happy.

Re: First Post--Anyone using a BREWHA BIAC?

I was eyeing one of these when they first came out and may still get one in the future. I saw it at the AHA Conference in San Diego a few years back. You can easily use it to distill, just don't try and use your controller in auto for it. Your best bet would be to make your own condenser using SS tr...

One other thing, after adopting the design, query the membership for sizes, quantities and have them commit to purchase prior to making a run at the silk screeners. A few extra shirts laying around is one thing, but being out of pocket for dozens is quite another thing. There are many options cheap...

Re: Puking?

You got it plumbed backwards. It looks like your output is below the liquid level and your input is above it. Try swapping it around. Input to thumper should be below the liquid level and the output to your condenser should be above so you just get vapor. As long as your still was properly cleaned (...

Snackson, did you ever finalize your tequila recipe? It worked out perfectly. I see you've been bumping every tequila thread there is? Lol.
