so 3.3 gal/12.5 L of headspace was not near enough. NOTE TO SELF : Reduce batch size by 10%!!! I do a lot of AG wheat vodkas and much prefer soft white to hard red due to its lower levels of protein. It still pushes into the blow-off tube but it doesn't overflow the water bucket and end up on the f...

I have used the delete button more than a few times and I have honestly answered "drunk posting" in the pop-up window as for the reason.

I figured there had to be one somewhere and, sure enough, right there in plain sight ... a gun. It looks like the guy in the back is holding up a pistol. A little too much motion blur to be sure but it looks right.

Please tell me that you have that column supported in some way. Have you tested its stability with an empty boiler ? I'm a little concerned that you could remove enough volume during a run to make that tip.

I couldn't rig a pressure-tight copper fitting there.

I've read that deer normally give birth to a single fawn unless food is plentiful then they birth twins. It's no coincidence that my local deer have been birthing twins every year since I began distilling.

I want to reuse them, but don't remember what Great Grandaddy Frank did with them. Any clues?
Well, I didn't know Frank but what a lot of folks do is add some sugar to the used grains and make a sugarhead.

Re: Chemical smell
The adhesive comes off. In the other words, the backing has an adhesive that peels away from the ptfe. The adhesive is on the backing not the PTFE ? So, the adhesive is NOT intended to hold the PTFE in place ? That doesn't make sense to me, from a product standpoint, but you're free to use whatever...

Any clues where I am getting this chemical smell and taste from?
Unless you changed them out, it's probably from the rubber and/or silicone gaskets and seals.
