Re: Dephlegmator not needed to reflux?

To balance the column, runn in full reflux at the max power the column can handle without flooding. If it floods you need to turn down the power, not the RC. Yep on collection speed, 2-2.5 liter per min is good, actually less if you shoot for neutral. Mod edit . I think you mean 2 to 2.5 litres per ...

How do you judge that you have a ton of reflux without the RC on? I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that it's because the plates stay loaded? It's how your comments reads to me if that's wrong I'm sorry the next bit will not apply at all. Full disclosure, I've never ran caps, I have sieve pla...

Oooh, malted oats, looking to play with them soon, just want to finish my third go around on the single pot myself. Get a fair whack of keep cuts on each spirit run, about 11l at 80% per spirit run thus far, this will see me in Irish pot whiskey fot the forseeable future. What you aging process. I g...

Thumper looks on the small side for the boiler, maybe you can repousse your keg as the thumper.

Lovely patina on it, don't forget a cleaning run on it, who knows how long it's been sitting

It's 3in at it most narrow section, before leibig but after keg. Wider column makes for slower spread allowing the heavier comp...

You could turn copper, basically put it in a lathe and shape it.
But it's far harder to learn than basic soldering.
Reckon it would be a fairly rewarding hobby in itself

Commercial distilleries all over the world charge their stills with low wines higher than 40%, nothing strange there

The 40% rule is only here on HD
