I'm followin this for obvious reasons I hope this isn't treading on your toes if it is requested I'll get it moved :-) my plan was to make good neutral and I also have a simple pot still for stripping and rum and the bokakob is sitting unused. I've been quoted £15 a mtr plus 20% for 3" tube her...

Re: Tasting Spirits - Developing a Palate
I agree that I'm either insensitive or overwhelmed, my favourite thing is corn straight off the still which tastes corny and sweet or all grain heavy pleated single malt but other than the smoke I can barely make out much else out I know I like it though. I have put sweetfeed through and no matter w...

Re: Do you drink your shine?
I rarely drink it to be honest but I don't ever cut it with water so it's a little perky, I find all I can taste after cutting is the water and it ruins it for me. Probably doing it wrong I do take a few straight from the still and that is my favourite thing but I find that lovely sweetness goes too...

Re: 3" VM column into a 2" reflux condenser
Sounds like a good plan, BoisBlancBoy...!!! The purpose of extending the take off branch as far as possible it to keep the split ratio more equal... We had the discussion, and some experiments were done, some years ago when VM's were becoming the rage for neutral spirits... Older designs ...

Re: leaking gasket or off center ferrule
Looks like a non-altered keg. Is that a standard gasket for a tri-clamp? The gasket has a elevated ring on each side of the gasket to fit inside the groove on each side of the tri-clamp connection. The keg doesn't have that groove and the gasket will need to have the elevated ring removed. I've fou...
