I never got around to trying white labs distillers yeast but i found that safale US-05 dry beer yeast seems to work pretty good for corn whiskey

finally got around to trying kamut. made a blend of 55% kamut 20% white malted wheat 25% malted 6 row. Initial tasting left me with the impression that this is going to be a damn fine whiskey once it ages on oak for a while. smooth sipping and a nice sweetness to it. only real problem was the kamut ...

ended up sourcing 3 varieties of molasses for my experiments. two of them came from international molasses and one was from some other brand. so far my favorite has been the light and sweet molasses from international. it makes a real nice light rum. paid about 50 bucks for a 5 gallon pail of it

has anyone on here tried kamut? i plan on doing some experimentation with it, by using it with some malted white wheat and 6 row. Id love to get anyones input if they have some to share

hey bu77head, id be interested to hear if you have any preference on any of the whitelabs whiskey yeasts. Im looking at trying a few different yeasts in my experiments and would be interested if you prefer any one over the other and why
