Re: Anyone familiar with se okla.

Pretty rough country over there. Usually good water though. Lots of game, and you can see the stars. Hard to make a living in that area unless you work in the timber industry. The smell of the paper mill will grow on you, especially when you can relate good memories with it. Good folk, but they don'...

So sorry for your loss. Although there will always be a whole in your heart for the ones you loved and lost, be thankful for the chance to have loved. Take comfort in knowing that she loved you. Make the best of every day, take nothing for granted. We are not guaranteed tomorrow, or the rest of toda...

Re: Starting a small business questions.

+1 on what Rad said. You need to figure out what type of business you are going to be... An LLC, a sole proprietorship, a corporation????? Your answer to that will determine what you may take or claim on your taxes. You will need an FEI number, possibly and probably a business permit in your local c...

Re: It's the 21st century fer cryin' out loud !!! WTF ?

I put my kids through private school, my oldest just started college while waiting to go to boot camp, taking freshman comp and an art class for humanities. After the 1st week he had to turn in a paper. Next class he came home and said dad you won't believe how stupid these kids are, they don't even...

I make my own likker. I drink my own likker. If you should have the opportunity for a taste consider yourself lucky. I am an artisan home distiller. I don't make moonshine, I make artisan craft likker. Mostly whiskey, and a run or 2 of rum a year. I built my 1st, 2nd, and now 3rd micro distillery, a...

Had the same thing happen, I filtered it through coffee filters. Let set a month or so, had more, filtered it again, that took care of most of it. I have a bottle from August 2015, it has a slight bit still. Tastes wonderful though. Did you use any fruit in your flavor/aging? I used pineapple and ra...

Re: Buying sugar and not looking like its for distilling

Tellem it's none of their business. It's perfectly legal to buy 50-100, a ton whatever amount of sugar you want. It's not illegal to buy or have sugar. Don't have a guilty conscience. You'll be fine.

Woodshed, Your heart and soul went into that shine, most people don't know what it takes to make a good drop. Even rarer is someone especially a younger person who has even tasted a good whiskey. It was a good thing for you to take the time to teach them how to enjoy a really good drink. My family a...

I definitely try to have not only a great taste but a great color also. I never let anyone see or taste something that is hazy or not up to par. Very few ever see it anyway. I have some that's not so pretty but tastes great, I take it to camp for my sipping whiskey.

Re: not another back surgery!

JB, I too have back problems, something that has helped me is a product called MSM. You can buy it in pill form at any pharmacy, or if you can do as I did, I went to the feed store and bought a pound tub for about $10, 99% pure. Then go get some glucosamine pills at the pharmacy. I take a juice glas...

Here it depends on what kind of hay, I just bought 40 big squares for $35 each. That's for hay grazer, we've had an abundance of rain and there's plenty of hay. My pasture is belly deep on my cows right now, I will only be supplementing them later in the winter. They love hay grazer. Wish you luck f...
