You Jellybean have been here long enough to answer this yourself. If you don't want to research it for him why should we. I know your looking for someone to pop in with I got this one and it's great. Your brothers needs and what he'll be making is more in your wheelhouse to give a good answer too. ...

Electric still?
Electric stills? I’m asking because I can’t find any info on good electric stills, (pot still), sold commercially. I’m asking for my Brother who doesn’t want to build one. 10-15 gallons is his preference. He wants a complete still, nothing that has to be modified. Ready to clean then run. You know, ...

Re: Simpson’s coffee barley malt
Hey 8Ball I think this “Java whiskey” was one of my better experiments. It’s so easy and has a distinct coffee flavor without being too overpowering. I have one more gallon that’s been aging for two and a half years. I just went out and sampled some. Wow. It’s nice. I’ll probably bottle it this spri...

The pic is a little blurry. Can you explain how the smoke is delivered to the smoke box and if the wood is ignited with electricity or flame?
Thanks

Re: Coffee roasting
Most people I’ve talked with that haven’t roasted coffee say they like dark roast. Beans so dark they’re oily. At that point all you get is a cup of charcoal water. Large chain coffee shops mostly roast there beans dark. One reason is that cheap dark roast coffee tastes the same as Expensive beans w...

Re: Coffee roasting
I took six ounces of green Columbian beans and added approximately two shots of bourbon. Let it sit in a closed jar for a day - until the beans had soaked up all the bourbon and swollen up a good bit. Started the roast on low to medium heat and high air until they dried back out then up to higher h...

This is how I smoke my malt. I can use different woods and it has the same effect. https://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=71863 Maybe the title wasn’t the best choice, but I got the peat from Ireland and the smoke box looks like it could be a leprechaun coffin. Yikes :esurprised: JBC

Hey Subbrew: I hope your brandy is wonderful. If you have done it right, and it seems you did, it should be great. Aging it for two years or more is the best thing you can do. Hey Hudster There is a guy here “Jimbo” he has a recipe for “Ginger Liquour”. If you like ginger it’s a fantastic recipe. Easy to make and can be tweaked to suit your taste. I sometimes put a shot in a beer. Instant fortified ginger beer. https://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5715...

Hey ShineOn Buying it pressed takes all the hard work out of it. I’m down to my last bottle of apple brandy. I’ve only made it with apple juice. Getting a good deal on cider is what I’m looking for. Unfortunately I don’t live in Apple country. But I’m always looking, just in case. One thing I did on...

Thanks Nerdy for sharing your experience having COVID-19. I’m so happy you got through it. And to all here who have had it, I’m thrilled you’re ok. Dying is not a good thing for the survivors.
