Re: How do I get this out

Thats a lot of stick for a gallon. But as Rad said leave it alone and it will shrink, dry up and fall out.

Re: Are there any recipes for Tuna, Prickly Pear Spirits)?

I second what skow says. I wasnt a real fan of the flavor from what I made last year. I boiled, beat and whipped the tunas until all the mucus broke down. Then strained. The SG was low so added some agave syrup. I used bakers yeast and it fermented dry after 30 days. For me its hard to drink unless ...

What part of Arizona are you in, if I may ask?

I am just going to welcome you to the sight this time around. I honestly am not articulate enough about this hobby to guide you thru your dilemma in the forum, but if we were sitting at a table talking it over I bet my insights would be helpful. I will recommend that you not make your wash so heavy....

Re: Running a small still

Thanks Bob! Other than size our outfits are identical. I constantly read about the quality of your drop and have wondered if you ran it differently than I do mine. I am realizing that if I run mine low and slow once I enjoy the flavor more. And am returning to that practice on my sweet feed ferments.

H.O.Associations have eyes everywhere so hide it well. You dont need the hassle prying eyes can bring. And its no fun doing a run looking over your shoulder.

Re: So Many Questions

The swamp cooler will cool the water down, but if you use it for the still shed at the same time you might think your back in bama.
I use a thirty gallon rubbermaid trash can for reservoir. Last run I did the temp started at 95 and reached 140 at the end.

One saguaro in the yard but its so small you have a hard time telling it from a barrel cactus. I can see hundreds of them from front porch. can ya make likker outta them? Maybe! But they are protected so that would be against the rules. I did make 10 G of prickley pear wash in August though. Not su...

Hello from the Sonoran Desert

Howdy. I own a couple small alembic stills (1 and 5 gallon) with more than a couple ferments and runs in the jars, white and on wood. My first AG will be clear to run tomorrow. Its time to quit lurking in the shadows. I found HD several months ago and have been following the forum ever since. The ed...
