Jake, I do use broken terracotta plant pots as boiling chips, and after each run they change the color as if they absorb some nasties.
Also in my country it is used to age arak in it.
would like to hear from you if you try it as column fillings, sounds interesting.

Re: Problem reaching Equilibrium
Yea the alcohol i use is stripped grape alcohol as it is always available in my country use to make arak, raki or ouzo.I can make it brandy or neutral...nothing to worry about . i think my heat increase wasn't enough as i wasn't getting the 50ml per minute to measure my reflux and collect 5ml per mi...

Re: Problem reaching Equilibrium
You're right Demy, i could redistill my batch and get a more neutral flavor.
As to why i want that azeo is for making vodka and neutral to use for gin and liqueur. After all i think it would be a nice achievement getting the 95-96 each degree over 92 will be a step stone.

Re: New still , Reflux condenser problem
Okay i got an idea, the water flow goes in the condenser then out of the condenser to the top outlet of the so called column and it exits through the bottom of the column, this way gives a small amount of reflux along with the packing.that would be the best use of it before i fix it with the tee and...

Re: New still , Reflux condenser problem
It isn’t really reflux. cant i find a way to use the best out of it? make me feel i didn't waster my money please :D Another concern I see with your system is the horizontal orientation of the product condenser. It could become partially “liquid plugged” with condensate That doesn’t flow to the out...
