Okay! :econfused: I can't seem to find what I did wrong with making my spp from the notes I picked up in here. I have a 36"X 3" ss CCVM column. I went with the 1/10th of the column for the diameter of the packing(.300") and 150% X dia. or .450" for the length. I used .025" 3...

DO NOT USE THAT!
baking soda is what I think you need. regular arm&hammer baking soda
or maybe its baking powder, but at least either one is not poisonous like hypo is

Hi NIN I have several soldered on fitting on one of my kegs that are fine under gas heat. as long as the keg never goes dry the solder will not reach melting temps. The ptfe gaskets can take tons of heat, but make sure no open flame can reach up to the exposed side of the clamp and it'll be fine. I ...

Being as this is on the lines of a thank you thread for all of those that helped in anyway towards this build, In the next pict, the weld on the 3X2 reducer to the 3'' 45.... that's a 20 plus year old weld that my mentor did he's the man that took me from cocky, fresh from the Navy kid to a respecte...
