i obviously did not think the question through it was just i am completely unfamiliar with collecting the rum oils.... if you have fundamental reading in regards to collecting rum oils in particular i obviously need to brush over it again

in Pugi's Rum recipe when on the spirit run should I be upping the temperature as high as possible to push as much of the rum oils as possible?

after two months (3?) of the controlled dunder test and still no spores have forms so i am going to say its been a success! I have just put down a wash a couple of days ago and it is smelling good! lots of fruity esters :thumbup:

Ex sherry barrel for rum

I recently got offered a used barrel for ageing my rum... will the fact that it had sherry in it effect it negatively and/or should I get it recharred?
Any input would be great

first attempt at dunder so i thought i would try and control it and added some cheese bacteria to it...

Will be setting down my next wash tomorrow... Unfortunately I can't seem to find the recipe I used but will follow it as close as possible from memory. If it happens again I will record it as I think it will be to hard to take a photo... night all

I can see how they would be called rum fairies.... is it something to be concerned about? Cant seem to find anything on it have I fone something wrong in the mix?
