i obviously did not think the question through it was just i am completely unfamiliar with collecting the rum oils.... if you have fundamental reading in regards to collecting rum oils in particular i obviously need to brush over it again

in Pugi's Rum recipe when on the spirit run should I be upping the temperature as high as possible to push as much of the rum oils as possible?

after two months (3?) of the controlled dunder test and still no spores have forms so i am going to say its been a success! I have just put down a wash a couple of days ago and it is smelling good! lots of fruity esters

Ex sherry barrel for rum
I recently got offered a used barrel for ageing my rum... will the fact that it had sherry in it effect it negatively and/or should I get it recharred?
