Re: Jokes
Ed came home drunk one night, slid into bed beside his sleeping wife, and fell into a deep slumber. He awoke before the Pearly Gates, where St. Peter said "You died in your sleep, Ed". Ed was stunned. "I'm dead? No, I can't be! I've got too much to live for. Send me back!" St. Pe...

Re: Failed Whiskey Mash - Everytime
The recipe your using is for flaked maize. Flaked maize looks like instant potatoes that has a light yellow color. 165 works fine because it's already been gelatinized. If your using any form of ground corn, like everyone has stated does not work at that temp. I'm with acfixer69, I think this is whe...

Re: Odin's Easy Gin
Another newbie trying his first Gin. Big thanks to Olin and all contributors. I started out about a mouth ago with 10L of HBB gumball that was made into neutrals and proofed down to 43%. Mars,
Thanks for the reply. I just got some liquid enymes to try and I'm thinking the rye flavor would come over more the way your doing it.

Re: Mashing Steps w/Recipe Grain Bill of Corn/Rye/Barley
Also new here, but have used rye in some of my grain bills. If it was me I'd add unmalted with corn. If malted rye add with the malts. And if your using flaked rye do as you said.
