I don't have any maggots, but I just spotted wevils in my corn.
I'm doing a USJM varient. I think I'll just dump my boiling sugar water right on em.

Here in florida I have my thermostat in the house set at 78 f . my ferment room is the coolest room in the house I just live with what is. Can't spend the extra bucks to keep the house 70 to 75.In the summer here it is in the 90s all the time.

cane syrup rum

Mornin guys, I got my paws on two quarts of cane syrup. It's 2lb 8oz per quart. I was thinkin strong rum,the plan is both quarts and 5lb brown sugar for a 5gal batch. Any advice on nutrients or recipe changes for this attempt?

I use one of those . It will get hot.
I have two elements 4500/220v running on 120v. They are hooked to 2 different 15a circuits.
Use both elements for heat up then use the control for the rest of the run.

Barley, corn shredded wheat ,
cook corn and shredded wheat and sugar a lot until it is like creamed corn. Cool to 150 deg add malted barley. Add yeast
very niiice.After distilling of course.
