Makes sense. Would there still be foreshots on a 2nd or 3rd run? Is there foreshots in every run no matter what? Sorry for asking dumb questions. I just wanna make sure that when I do make my 1st run, it's gonna be a goodin!

Thank you all. Good stuff. Definitely gonna run a sugar wash first, but all the reading on here has got my gears turning for future spirits without getting too far ahead of myself. Alot of info on here.

I'm a newbie building a keg still and was wondering if I made a 30 gallon wash, would I be able to run it in 3 seperate runs in 10 gallon batches and if the wash would still be good till I ran it all? Any advice for info would be appreciated. Thank you

Is milling or grinding grains required for making moonshine
Do I need to mill or grind malted barley and malted rye for making shine? If so, what can I use to make it the right consistency. Thank you.

Thanks everyone. A cleaning port is a good idea. I've had the keg for a while and it has sat empty for a few years. I recently took it apart.

How do you clean and sterilize a beer ke to use for a still?
Making a still out of a beer keg and want to make sure its clean and sterilized. Any advice on what i should use that won't effect the mash?

Thank you everyone for the advice. I have a couple questions. If I add a thumper, which I would like to eventually, would I lose alcohol as it condenses while the thumper is warming up?
