Hello all I am starting a new thread here with lots of respect going to forum member Tony1966 , I am not criticising him or anything like that, he has been very helpful. But can or do anyone back up what he stated in the last post on this thread https://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=85&...

Re: element controller

Stillvodka That’s right on the limit of the power controller mate, your build but if it were me I’d be using an 8kw or above power controller, the max RMS on state is listed at 20 amps for that controller. Your right on the limit of running that at max power, Is it one 4.5kw element or like mine is...

Good on you for questioning it . Yeah at first glance it looks like a stand alone controller but it really is just a part that needs to be in a box with the other connectors etc that you were worried about . ok, i have been looking really hard at this controller, but i just can't see how this thing...

Stillvodka There was another pic on your link that shows how to connect it . FDB1D07C-84FF-47B3-B47E-F881DAF165B0.jpeg Note also the heatsinking rquirements . Might be best to mount it in a box on a heatsink and loop your cables in and out of the box . Ok right, what did make me maybe over cautious...

Re: water usage

Thanks to your query, for the first time ever, I have worked out how much water I used for a gin type run today. 2600ml of cooling water over four hours to condense 570ml of 78% from a 1300ml charge of 43% plus the juices from an unknown quantity of added fruit. It is about twice the volume of wate...

Re: History from the other side

I do have to look up the exact number, but Mao seems to surpass all mass-murderers. And I heard about the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. I think it was far more brutal than the holocaust. The number of people killed per annum was far greater, the people were killed, even slaughtered, by their neighbou...

Re: water usage

A cubic meter of water is 1000 liters ..... unless you have a 4” reflux still with 8kw under it I doubt you would come anywhere close to using that much water on a run . Incidentally your water is cheap . I had to get my tank filled last weekend . Waterman charged me $230 for 12,000 liters  W...

Re: water usage

I do not use any water on a run. I use a very long, winded cooler sitting in the air and I run slow. Takes more time, but not more energy and no water at all. I I want to speed up, I use wet rags on my cooler, using the evaporation. And that system can be enhanced. That seems like a good way of coo...
