I read 87%ABV with the 2 degree deduction i came out to 85%ABV

Reading the Proof and Tralle
Ok im still having alittle trouble reading my Proof and Tralle hydromter?? Which of these pics do i go off of?? Im cofused at what Part of the Meniscus to go off of??? I know about my heat deductions and all. But which line do i go off of? In the pics i posted you will see im pointing at both lines?

I actually got to Sample a snap 51 yeaterday and a snap 35? Both were very accurate! Out VERY PRICEY! How well does the snap “EASYDENS” work for spirit runs?

My water temp is 85F degrees on my hydrometer so my deduction is -5 soo with that being said do i start the subtraction soon as its starts running? Say i wanna make my first cut at 78% i would need to cut it at 83 on the Alcohol hydrometer correct???

Setting mills
Ok so i just started my cook 9 gallons of low wines all 100% and 3 gallons heads and tails!!! I set my still at 85 mills per minute...within an hour its done dropped to like 50 mills??? Can someone please explain this!!

And a 72 hour ferment sounds quite hopeful. I don’t see how it can be done fermenting. Perhaps a week will do it tho. ss see after the 72 hours i take 11 1/2 gallons out of my mash and put in still plus 2 qts of heads and tails which equals 12 gallons.... i run that for a “stripping run” and what e...

If you’re malting your own corn successfully you really don’t need the sugar. 100% corn malt, or even half malt half corn, is some of my favorite whiskey. SS gives you good advice, mill to coarse meal, should be easy with the malt. Then again, are you mashing your malt or are you just doing a flavo...

Ok guys I’m Doing what they call 3 times cooks!! 6 oz Fleischmanns dry active yeast, 15 gallon water,15lbs sugar,15lbs of malt corn White hickory to be exact....im fermenting that for 72 hours...Then im taking 11 1/2 gallons of that plus 2 qts of heads and tails and running Low wines for flavor!!!!...

I ran some low wines earlier after really tightening down on the compression fittings i didnt see any leaks!! Used soap and water! But i wonder if i should maybe solder around the copper and brass as well to be 110% sure it has deff stopped!

Yes i have a LD Carlson alcohol Hydrometer i know its accurate!! I tested it with store bought whiskey at 60 degrees it was dead on... i did find a very small leak in my coil Could i lose that much alcohol with a small leak??
