Re: Intro

Yeah god day, mate. I had a t500 a while back. I had a passable product using a recipe called Tedsad’s fast fermenting vodka , TFFV. Better flavour but a bit more work than TPW. Welcome aboard.

Re: EZ Solder 2" Shotgun

My son is a fitter/ machinist cnc operator at a local engineering shop. They are flat out doing movie prop production at the moment. I have all my stainless welding and triclover and KleanFlow fittings through him. At some stage I'll have a look at getting the same forms done here , in the meantime ...

Yeah gidday, welcome.
Where in the NZ are you?
I’m a Westin recently moved to Kumeu. Would be cool to have someone nearby to swap recipes and compare notes.

Re: Grappa recipe and Process

I have a dry sherry wine in the 30lt fermenter at the moment, when it dries it is supposed to be racked off and cleared with a secondary fermentation . I am thinking I can run it through the pot still along with some bottles of left over wine from a local wine tasting. Single run with cuts might giv...

Re: What'd ya'll make today?

Wheat bran, corn and rye run through the pot still yesterday. Not sure how to do stripping/ spirit runs and learning about cuts . Airing for 24 hrs so now I’m about to blend reject or put on oak what I save. I have a wine must in the 30lt fermenter and a bunch of wine to run off a brandy . Tomorrow ...

Re: Double Coil.

Wow. That looks so much better than my first, and second, attempt. Is the 1/4”” id or od . I used refrigeration tubing of 6mm OD but I think it will be too small. Is there a link on the coil winding on here, my eyes are bleeding trying to read off the iPad

Cleaning run underway, not using the reflux configuration yet, still have no packing organised. The big blue bucket is not part of it, just me not putting things away.

Re: My stuff is almost all here

sounds like you don't like your gaskets, I'd give em three laps of ptfe tape and call it good. saves you waiting for a delivery for em and is cost effective, it's just plain old plumbers tape. You may have your own booze on the xmas table yet Thanks, I have a decent quantity of oak aged corn/rye sp...

Re: My stuff is almost all here

Thanks. My 28 yr old son and I did them when he was about 12. Had a matching desk too with chev hub caps ( 1/24 scale? ) inset in the drawer pull knobs . I dabble in a bit of pinstriping for fun .

My stuff is almost all here

Nearly everything needed to put it all together and get down to it. Seals supplied are “alcohol safe” but are black. Others I have seen are white, not sure .

Re: How to Make UJSSM for Newbies - by StogieFarts

Awesome summary of your journey so far . Thank you. Not too much reading for this befuddled old fart to follow. Last corn rye sour mash I ran over toasted oak chips and spirals has turned out fantastic. I will try UJ once my new still is completed. You have made the whole process easier to understan...

Hey, Ant here. I've owned a T500 for a couple of years sold that, been using a borrowed old Super Reflux for the past year or so, multi generation corn/rye on oak was a success!,stepping it up with a 2'column on beer keg ,currently a work in progress. Will have a few dumb questions, be gentle, cheer...
