That was exactly my question. I am currently just experimenting with corn whiskey.

Does raw sugar in your mash produce a higher quality finished product compared to cane sugar? Does one produce a higher volume of alcohol than the other?

Should I cut back on the corn as well?

Using Turbo yeast,airlock etc. Right now I'm just making corn whiskey using the following recipe per gallon of wash: 1 gallon water 3 lbs corn 3 lbs...

Reading the back of the Turbo yeast package it says not to use an airlock? I'm making my wash in plastic buckets. If you don't use an airlock how will the CO2 escape and not blow the lid off the bucket? Being exposed to oxygen will cause the yeast to reproduce instead of converting the sugar correct...

I like straight corn whiskey and had a couple suppliers who quit making it. The store bought stuff just isn't the same! If I can get that down then maybe I'll try some flavors. I ordered a small 5 gal. 3 pot SS/copper setup.
