Re: SBB's All Molasses Rum Recipe

how long to get it finished? If its kept quite warm it could be done in as litte as 3-4 days........kept cooler about a week. Dont let it get to hot as an insulated wash can build a lot of heat in the first few days. Its warm to the touch I ferment in 30 gallon hdpe barrel im afraid to take the bla...

Re: SBB's All Molasses Rum Recipe

Do you guys stir in your yeast or just leave it on top of the ferment I rehydrate mine, then give it a feed. By the time it gets pitched it's climbing out of the jug. 20210410_153232.jpg I'm used to making a starter so here's mine before it decided to climb out the jar its sizzling like bacon just ...

Re: Making Wash with LME

I'm about to start a wash using Liquid Malt Extract and I'm wondering about clearing the wash after fermentation has finished. I usually do sugar only and clear the wash with Sparkolloid before letting it near my lovely Dragon Pot Still. Sparkolloid get a sugar wash crystal clear but I tried using ...

Re: What'd ya'll make today?

I mostly just let it settle in the barrel then rack off of it it's been working just fine but I dont do much corn It took me about 2.5 hours to squeeze 50# of grains. I recovered all but about 2 gallons from a 25 gallon mash. Squeezing corn is a labor of love. Yeah it taste good I'll have to do ano...

Racked a squeezed a 25 gallon bourbon mash. I got 11 gallons of clear and about another 12.5 of cloudy shit to clear, and froze the squeezins for a sugarhead later. No time to do it right now. Re: SBB's All Molasses Rum Recipe

 P It should look like this once its settled. I don't bother with siphoning from the top. After a week 99.99% of yeast and other unwanted rubbish is a solid layer on the bottom of the fermenter, If you ferment in a container with a tap on or close to the bottom you can draw straight off. just...

Re: SBB's All Molasses Rum Recipe

Give it some time once fermentation finishes ,2 - 3 days to a week if you have time, yeast and any crud will settle to the bottom the same as any wash. It will always stay black though. That's what I was wondering would it stay dark in color thanks I'll be sure to let it settle good before I run it
