Can non macerated Absinthe be made in a column still?
I guess you can. But how? Do you make 96 vol and dillute to 10 abv , throw in the herbs and redistil one more time or how do you do it?

Interesting answer. I still protest !! lol. Sending condenced spirit below the packing should in my mind increase the separation. Think of it. What do call a design where a part of the fully condensed liquid is returned to either the boiler or just below the packing?

I am in the very beginning of trying to understand column still designs. Why are some columns designed with the take off port above the defhleg and some below? The reason I'm wondering is that refluxed heads could be circulated so that heads are collected first and hearts later in any case? I've see...

What a lovely thread. I would like to share my first experience with Absinthe which I believe was a lucky shot. The end result was amazing. I call it; "Contaminator's Coopers Lager Absinthe" I will come back later to the actual recipe but first I'd like to tempt your spirit craving palates...
