Re: How to fixture sanitary ferrule for soldering into DWV pipe

I have used flattened solid copper romex wire to wrap around the ferrule and hold it centered.

Mine goes down to 3/4” from the bottom, so the vapor coming in has to go through the liquid that cools it off, until it bri...

+1 on the heat. You can also use marble chips from the garden center to raise the pH.

Yes. Masa for tortillas is made in the same way.
I believe it is calcium hydroxide for masa harina.
I’ve seen recipes several different ways. We just buy it already made, so I may be wrong.

I would do 20 to 25 gallon ferments. That way you could do several strips and then one spirit run. Do you have any pictures of your setup?

NIN are you basifying the low wines to suppress esterification? soda ash or lye works, shoot for 7.0-8.0ph. I understand this will also convert ethyl acetate (nail polish remover) which is what I associate with "bite".
Does it matter if it’s food grade or not?

I would move the condenser further away from the column so it’s easier to catch the distillate and the condenser doesn’t draw all of the heat from the column. Just some thoughts.
