Re: Getting that boat?

Fantastic. I'm off to Italy for a few days on Sunday, then to France for a few days. I love a certain craft beer place that I go to regularly in Budapest, and it would be an honor to invite you. Any idea if you will be here tomorrow?

Re: Odin's Easy Gin

Odin,
Did you see the video Jesse from Still It made with your recipe? I really enjoyed watching it think this willl be my Go To recipe for Gin from now on. We might need to talk about opening a distillery and naming the Gin "Odin's Gin"

Re: Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe

I agree with husker. this recipe has less variables than others and as a newbie I am exciting about trying it out. I am sticking to the formula only dividing the ingredients by 4 to give me a yield of about 5 gallons of wash. I have a one gallon "Mr. distiller" table top distiller and wan...

Odin,

Sticking to your 1gr per litre recipe. With 25% of that boiled as nutrient. Making a 200 litre batch soon.

Thanks again,

Re: Cornflakes whiskey

If you can distill very slowly on gas or with a water jacketed boiler, there is no need to take the liquid of the grain. Just distill all. Odin. Odin, I have a water jacketed still, but my question is wont distilling everything give a bad taste due to all the yeast in the wash? What's your opinion?...

Re: Cornflakes whiskey

pH crash is pretty dependent on how calcium rich your water is. pH at around 4 is good for the ferment. Higher hampers flavor development. Lower may stall your ferment. Well, pH 3.5 is still okay, but start out at pH 4.0 and then play around a bit to find your flavor profile. Depending on your wate...

I like his teaching methods for sure though..very military and that's what I'm used to so I can relate, but it is also easy to fall into that trap of believing everything people say, because of the way they said/say it..
